Ever wonder whether those hair tricks you've heard about really work or if they're just old wives tales?
To get hair really clean, you must "lather, rinse and repeat."?
False. "One thorough shampoo usually does the trick. If you have excessive product build up or oils, you may need a second shampoo."
You can mend split ends with the right products."?
Once they're split, that's it.
You can't make flat, fine hair look full of body?
False. "Five minutes with a set of large hot rollers will add life to straight hair. The heat in the rollers add in that circulatory pep to your hair."

A cowlick is a small tuft of hair that is continuously unruly. Most people are born with these cowlicks, which occur typically around the crown of the head or along the front of the face at the hairline. If you have a cowlick, you know exactly what one is and how much of a pain cowlicks can be. If you are looking for a way to tame that cowlick, the following steps will help you:
1. Consult with your hair stylist to see if she can reduce the problem with a haircut.
2. Use a hair cream, gel, grease or pomade to work out the cowlick. Apply the product of your choosing to the root area around the cowlick and work it out the way you want it to lie. Do not use too much styling product to tame the cowlick, or you may give it a wet or stiff look, which may end up drawing more attention to it.
3. Use a blow dryer with your styling product to straighten out cowlicks. Brush the hair in the direction you want it to go as you blow it dry on a hot setting. Keep the blow dryer nozzle pointed downward and blow it out from the cuticle.
